We rolled from Indiana around 10:30a with Dan at the lead. Unfortunately he had to drive most of that small state highway with a gazillion little 1 horse 12 bar towns. We did roughly 120 miles of that and I don't think we'll do that again. Seemed alright at first but we just got so bogged down with slow traffic, lights, etc. All to avoid the traffic nightmares on 80/94 by the Ill/Ind border. So time for thanks:
To Dan, once again for letting me get a thrill driving his baby. And for being a great road buddy, who understands that you don't have to constantly be yapping yer jaws to have fun driving together.
To Dave and Jeannie and co. as always being great hosts of Sharks In The Mountains and allowing us into their lives and home and putting on a nice event.
To 928OC for the nice t-shirts.
And to all the 928'ers for bringing their rides, stories, knowledge and love of the car together.
Side props to: Mike Schmidt for the nice name badges, Kenny and Star, the guy at the Banner Elk t-shirt shop for seeing all the 928's and digging up some ancient 928 transfers for coffee mugs and giving us a couple freebies, our PT friends in Louisville, to Margo for added driving tunes (and signing the guest book) and to Tom for getting my mail and mowing my lawn.
