Second day,
We rolled about 10:45 local time, way too early for me considering that I didn’t crash until after 5. Miker slept thru the free breakfast at the hotel, but he had some snacks to get him thru until lunch.
We put a couple hours behind us before we stopped for gas and lunch.
We stopped at Smokey Joe’s BBQ for lunch, all you can eat sliced or pulled pork for $9, we both got half and half. Mike was having a sauce attack with the 4 flavors on the table. We also got corn nuggets, almost got the fried okra too, somehow we resisted.

I was navigating and writing this at the same time and almost made us miss our ramp in Knoxville, but thanks to sticky rubber and Mike’s good reflexes we made it.
We arrived, we were 10 minutes late for arriving with Greg Schickle, somehow for the last couple of years we have met on the road in.
We had a blast walking the parking lot looking at all the 928s,
then after a couple hours we headed to Nick’s for dinner, on the way we passed
our favorite restaurant from Florida, Crabby Bills, we couldn’t believe the
opened one in Banner Elk. Nick’s was
packed and there were a bunch of folks
waiting for some place to sit so we decided to head back to Bills for some
fish. Grouper was fresh so we both had
it, I had broiled and Mike had blackened.
They made us oysters rockerfeller even though they weren’t on the menu,
the kitchen manager was bill’s nephew and had worked at the places in
