First day I woke up without a wakeup call,
finally felt like I was on vacation.
We checked out and took a quick trip up the road to find out
about the rocking chairs that were in front of the hotel, the told us they
bought them just up the road. They didn’t
have any in stock and get them assembled from Lexington, NC. We’ll try to source them local for the cabin
or worst case try to get in touch with the manufacturer and see if we can order
them unassembled.
We drove for a couple hours, then stopped for fuel and food,
took 3 tries to fine a restaurant that didn’t have a long line of either high schoolers or seniors.
We did the trip out in 3 hour shifts behind the wheel but
since we need to do about 8 hours today we decided to do 2 hour shifts today.
Crossing into Indiana
we were in heavy traffic in 96° Heat with the AC on and stalled out the car
letting the clutch out a little quick.
The car wouldn’t restart again, no error indications, the starter just
wouldn’t engage. We swapped the starter
relay out with another identical one, no diff.
We discussed it and thought about it on the side of the road for about
20 minutes and tried the key and the car started. It must have just been that the starter
solenoid was too hot and had to cool down.
