First day of vacation and I still woke up at 7:00 AM even with the alarm off, what a bummer.. Oh well, I at least I'll have plenty of time to pack before I need to head to Mike's.

I started packing, all the work over the last couple days rounding up the random junk and making a list of the stuff I didn't want to forget paid off, it only took me an hour to jam it all together and figure out it wasn't all going to fit in one suitcase.. I took a pair of shoes and some of the little junk out and put it in a small backpack and the suitcase closed. It look me a while to jam it all in the car but it fit in about half of the hatch area. Headed for Mike's, he was running a little late and was in a frenzy trying to find his sunglasses and finish packing. I brought in his share of our logo shirts so he could finish packing and I started organizing the giveaway logoware.

We made it out of Mike's driveway at 2:15, but we needed fuel for both the car and ourselves before we really started, so we filled our bellies at Wendy's and the tank at Mobil before we got on the highway. We finally got rolling at 3:00, headed south on 294 to go around the city to pick up 80 toward 65 to Indianapolis…

We reviewed our choices for tonight's stop and decided on Louisville, it seemed like a more interesting place to spend the night than Lexington.

We had dinner at the Buckhead Mountain Grill, on the banks of the Ohio river and watched the eclipse from there.
We had fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, it was very good, I had Ribs and Steak, it was good but not wonderful, looking forward to the Italian place in Banner Elk.
