Stayed over night in Memphis just as a stopping point midway on the long trip home.
Checked out, breakfasted at Perkins (on Winchester Rd. - and just as a side note, Susan was a really good waitress and took good care of us, even when the Ketchup blew up).
Headed out on the second leg. Pretty uneventful.
Stopped at Lambert's (home of the Throwed Roll), in Sikeston, Missouri for some jowl and throwed rolls. Also had to gas up and very funny, this guy comes out and looks at the front of the car and say something along the lines of "that's what it is" and then yells back to the store front "It's a Porsche!". Continued gassing up and this lady comes outside from behind the counter saying "I thought it was a Ferrari or something", then Dan launched into his diatribe about the car. She told the guy to get behind the counter because she was the boss and I went in to pay. The guy asks how fast is it. I say "Faster than you can handle". He asks again and I say stock from the factory, I thought it was ~176mph (before any mods). He says, he wants me to watch the counter and he'll go take it for a spin around the block. I walk out and see Dan still spewing car facts. The lady's eyes were fairly glazed over at that point. The guy behind the counter then comes outside and says that I said he could take the car for a ride....Don't think so, Bobby Joe.
Uneventful ride all the way back to my place.
